Over the last 20 years the data base of applications for finish hard turning as performed on ultra precision Hembrug Mikroturn.jpg)
machines has been built up. Depending on the model it is now possible to finish cut part diameters up to 450 mm. A new and optional full hydrostatic 2.000 rpm toque motor spindle has been added to the existing spindle range. This extremely robust and precise hydrostatic main spindle has a torque of 249 Nm. and allows for large parts to be machined horizontally thereby avoiding more expensive vertical machining concepts. The angular stiffness has been approved to a great extent allowing UP machining and exact profiling of raceways in special bearings and even of ball screw nuts of all kinds (after heat treatment). The specification for the roundness error is < 0.2 µm. However, better values than 0.1 µm have been achieved already.
