1000V. This new machine allows for finish hard turning of bearing rings and ring shaped parts having diameters up to ø 1000mm and hardness up to 68 HRC, thereby eliminating the grinding process. The new Mikroturn® 1000 V has a very small footprint of 3.5 x 3.5 meters. Total investment cost compared to grinders of this size can be decreased by at least 30%. Like every other Hembrug machine in vertical design, the new Mikroturn 1000V has proven oil hydrostatic X- and Z- slides, and a very rigid and precise hydrostatic main spindle. The single column machine frame is made of black and solid natural granite accommodating a flat design 200 rpm rotary table yielding 800Nm torque. The technical concept incorporating self developed hydrostatics and the natural granite machine base result in extreme stiffness and precision. As such the lathe performs in grinding quality at high speed production rate. No additional grinding operations are required. Form accuracies within ±1 µm and surface finish of 0.2 µm in HRC 68 hardened steel have been realized in high volume production environments helping our customers to dramatically cut production cost.
