Finish Hard Milling
The continuously increasing trend for precision and the rising manufacturing costs in Europe has motivated Hembrug to develop a new ultra precision milling machine and process that reduces the current manufacturing operations. The increasing use of multiple hardened materials like high alloy tool steel (up to 70 HRC) or difficult cutting materials (tough and brittle), the continuously complicated freeform surfaces and parts with high requirements, such as dimensional accuracy (IT 3~5), 4 µm, surface finish qualities (Ra < 0,2 µm) and compact components with continuously limited tolerances have created this new development. The NANO FOCUS is therefore specifically applied in the industrial market for multiple applications of highly complex manufacturing operations.

The future manufacturing process will provide the economical benefits with the use of 5-axis simultaneous hard milling precision technology. The components are hardened at the beginning of the manufacturing process and are then completely finished on the 5-axis simultaneous ultra precision machine, within a few settings. The savings achieved by this new environmentally friendly milling process provides better quality, shorter lead times, productivity, flexibility and finally, a cost reduction. Our goal is to reduce the current manufacturing operations with improved accuracy.
