PRESENTING THE MIKROTURN 100 XLS AT AMB.
The Mikroturn 100 XLS is the big brother of the existing Mikroturn 100, specifically designed for machining high precision shafts of up to 1,000 mm in length. The guideways are equipped with heavier ball screw nuts and the machine has two steady rests for the shaft support.
All Mikroturn are built on a basis of natural granite with wear free hydrostatic bearings and guideways. The Mikroturn 100 XLS offers a very high machining accuracy. Form accuracies of 0.1 to 2 microns, surface roughness of 0.1 to 0.4 microns and size accuracies up to 2 microns in hardened steel (up to 70 HRC) are indicative of the machining results of the Mikroturn series. Due to the absence of metal contact between the moving parts this accuracy is also maintained even after 20 of 30 years.
The heavier ball screws makes higher acceleration and deceleration possible, which can lead to a further reduction of the cycle times. The Mikroturn 100 XLS offers a flexible and economical alternative to the grinding hardened shafts up to 70 HRC.
